I'm just shooting from the hip here, because I'm a long way from finished, but
that sounds a little high as a minimum cost.  I think 75k might be a more
realistic cost for an average or typical RV-9.  But "typical" these days
includes a new or reman engine, metal (or even CS) prop, extensive VFR
instrumentation (EFIS, engine monitor, etc.), stainless exhaust, and often
nice-to-haves like custom upholstery.  I'm fairly certain you can build a nice
-9 or -9A, like the one Bob Cutting built, for under 75k.

But I expect you can count on having at least 60k in it by the time you fly.
