I had this problem on both my 6A and my recently completed 9A, tthe
problem is you cannot form 2024T3 aliminium around a compound curve unless
you use a metal roller or edge shrinker, I talked to the guys at Vans,
they say the 3/16 gap just about everybody gets at the bottom rear corners,
is "normal" .
There is a solution ,however, and that is, to do as I did and make the
skirt from glass cloth and epoxy. You mould it in place right onto the
canopy and rear skin and the fit is pretty good..DONT use polyester or
Vinylester resins, they will attack the acrylic of the canopy and destroy
it.
